Children’s Growing Club
A hands-on growing club where children learn how food is grown by doing it.
Weekly sessions on the farm. Small groups. Real tools. Real food. This is not classroom learning and it’s not childcare.

- Time: 10:00am – 1:00pm
- Location: Celtic Roots Farm
- Ages: 6–12
- Group size: Max 15 children
£35 per child / month

What the growing club is
- Weekly outdoor growing sessions
- Small, calm groups
- Hands-on food growing from seed to harvest
- Learning through doing, not worksheets
- A steady, supportive environment
What children will do
- Sow seeds and raise young plants
- Plant out and care for vegetable beds
- Weed, water, and observe growth
- Harvest vegetables and herbs
- Learn about soil, compost, weather, and seasons
- Take food home when available
Session rhythm
- Arrival and grounding
- Hands-on growing work
- Snack break
- Harvest or simple activity
- Tidy up and close
August sessions
August runs at a lighter pace to reflect holidays and family time. Sessions focus on harvesting and simple seasonal jobs.
